If you’d like to request a refund or cancel a flight or service, we’re here to help.

We are accepting refund requests as of Monday, April 12, 2021 at 9:00am EDT. Please visit aircanada.com/refund after that time to get your refund started.

Your refund eligibility depends on the fare type you purchased.

You can request a refund* for the unused portion of your ticket

* You have the option of a refund if your flight is cancelled, or if you are otherwise delayed by 3 hours or more in relation to your original departure or arrival time, or if we add a connection to your itinerary.

How to request a refund

Please remember to request a refund via your original point of purchase as each partner has a unique booking system that we are unable to access, and they are better equipped to assist you.

Air Canada

If you booked directly through Air Canada (including aircanada.com, Air Canada for Business, the Air Canada mobile app, and our Contact Centres), Aeroplan, Kayak, Google Flights or Skyscanner, Visit My Bookings.

Other Air Canada options:

Travel agent/Online travel agency

If you booked with a travel agent or online travel agency such as Expedia or Priceline, please contact them directly.

Air Canada for Business

For Air Canada for Business bookings, please visit Air Canada for Business for details and refund options available to you and your corporation.

Air Canada Vacations

For Air Canada Vacations bookings, visit vacations.aircanada.com.

How to cancel a booking

Please remember to cancel your booking via your original point of purchase as each partner has a unique booking system that we are unable to access, and they are better equipped to assist you.

If you booked directly through Air Canada, you may cancel your booking online by visiting My Bookings and following the instructions.

If you need to cancel one or more segments of your itinerary, please contact Air Canada Reservations.

24 hours refundability:

If you cancel your booking within 24 hours of purchase, we will refund the value of your ticket or simply cancel the payment transaction.

For cancellations outside of 24 hours, refundability will depend on the fare type you purchased.

Frequently asked questions

A change or cancellation fee may apply based on the type of ticket you purchased. Please note that Air Canada has never charged a refund processing fee to customers or travel agencies. If you purchased your ticket with a travel agency and have a question about a fee, please contact your travel agency for more information.

Certain taxes, fees, and charges are refundable based on the following:
